Apple is said to be exploring a clamshell-style foldable phone called the iPhone Flip. The device would fold vertically, much like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip.
Reports point to Apple’s first foldable, the iPhone Fold, launching later this year. The iPhone Flip, however, is still in the early stages and far from confirmed. If it does move forward, the device could give Apple fans a compact option that recalls the smaller iPhone mini.
A clamshell design would make it more pocket-friendly while still offering modern features. It could also broaden Apple’s foldable lineup, which may eventually include larger book-style devices.
For now, the iPhone Fold looks more certain, while the Flip remains a possibility. Apple is known to test multiple prototypes before committing to production, so the iPhone Flip may or may not reach consumers.
Still, its potential shows Apple’s growing interest in foldable technology and how it might reshape the market currently led by Samsung and other Android brands.
