Google has confirmed that the Quick Share–AirDrop feature will roll out to more Android devices in 2026, beyond the Pixel 10 series. This update will make it easier to switch between iPhone and Android devices.
AirDrop support in Quick Share will enable fast, seamless file transfers between Android and iOS. Previously, the feature was only available on Pixel devices through the Quick Share Extension.
This time, Google has now turned it into a standalone APK on the Play Store, which effectively paves the way for wider adoption. Qualcomm has also hinted at support for Snapdragon-powered phones, while other manufacturers are expected to follow.
Google said the expansion will happen “very soon,” with broader device support expected throughout 2026. Alongside this, the company is also working with Apple to improve migration tools, making it easier for users to transfer data when moving between platforms.
Bringing the Quick Share–AirDrop feature to more Android devices will strengthen Google’s ecosystem, offering a more competitive alternative to Apple’s AirDrop.
