Apple has unveiled a new MacBook Pro with a PROLED XDR Display and touchscreen support. The latest laptop also comes with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, with prices in the Philippines starting at PHP 214,990.
The biggest change is the new PROLED XDR Display. It uses tandem OLED technology and can reach up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness. It also supports a 10,000,000:1 contrast ratio, P3 and Adobe RGB color, and up to a 120Hz ProMotion refresh rate.
For the first time, the MacBook Pro now supports touch with tap, swipe, pinch, and drag gestures. Apple says the feature is designed for creative work, productivity apps, music production, and 3D projects.
Another new addition is Dynamic Island on the Mac. Similar to the feature on the iPhone, it gives users quick access to calls, media controls, AirDrop requests, and Live Activities without leaving what they are doing.
The new MacBook Pro is powered by Apple’s M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. It can be configured with up to 128GB of unified memory and up to 16TB of storage. Apple says the machine is built for demanding tasks, including AI workloads, video editing, and 3D rendering.
Apple also redesigned the laptop with a thinner and lighter body. Battery life is rated at up to 24 hours. Other upgrades include a 12MP Center Stage camera, an improved six-speaker audio system, Thunderbolt 5, HDMI, an SDXC card slot, MagSafe, Wi‑Fi 7, and Bluetooth 6.
