More Philippine banks are expected to support Apple Pay this November, according to Mastercard PH. The move could bring the total number of participating banks in the country to eight before the end of 2026.
Mastercard Philippines Country Manager Jason Crasto said four more banks are preparing to add support for Apple Pay. The company has not revealed which banks will be part of the next rollout.
Apple Pay arrived in the Philippines in August 2026. At launch, the service worked with Chinabank, GoTyme Bank, Metrobank, and UnionBank. Customers of these banks can use eligible cards to make contactless payments with supported Apple devices.
The expansion does not stop there. Crasto said more banks are also expected to join Apple Pay in the first quarter of 2027.
The update comes as digital payments continue to grow in the country. Data from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas showed digital payments accounted for 64.7% of retail payment volume in 2025, up from 57.4% in 2024. The BSP is targeting digital payments to make up 60% to 70% of retail payment volume by 2028.

For Apple users in the Philippines, this means more chances to use Apple Pay with their current bank. If the rollout stays on schedule, more Filipinos could get access to the service before the year ends.
