This trick might help you reclaim storage after iOS 27 update

If you need more storage on your iPhone after the iOS 27 update, then try this trick. According to reports, Apple Intelligence could use as much as 15GB of local storage, even on some devices where the feature is not available.

Users report seeing Apple Intelligence consume between 9GB and 16GB of storage after updating. The issue appears to affect a wide range of devices, raising concerns for owners of iPhones with limited storage.

Turning off Apple Intelligence or disabling Siri does not restore the reserved space. However, a Redditor shared a workaround online, pointing to Siri’s language settings.

Users can switch Siri to an English variant that does not fully support Apple Intelligence, such as Canadian English, Irish English, South African English, or New Zealand English.

The reported method appears to reduce the amount of storage used by Apple Intelligence. Testing cited in the report showed storage use dropped by 6.55GB.

The issue has drawn attention because Apple Intelligence storage allocations reportedly remain active even in some regions where the feature is unavailable. For users on 128GB or 256GB devices, the reserved space can take up a sizeable amount of available storage.

If your iPhone is running low on free space after the update, this workaround could offer a temporary fix. Still, it’s worth monitoring future iOS updates for a more permanent solution from Apple.
