Drop tests make me cringe. I hate seeing beautiful, shiny devices getting destroyed just to see how they handle accidental drops. These devices are not cheap, which make it all the more unbearable to watch these drop tests. But still, they offer us a glimpse to the toughness and durability of gadgets, so we watch them nonetheless.
The latest to have undergone the drop test treatment are the newest phones from Apple, the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c. What’s ironic is that the drop test was done by Android Authority, a website that features Android news and Android devices. It’s therefore surprising that they do drop tests for Apple products.
In any case, the drop tests were done, so we just have to see the result and try to learn from the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c. Both have proven to be durable but you would think that the aluminum-enclosed iPhone 5s would be more fragile compared to the iPhone 5c. Watch the video below to see the results.

From the video above, both the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c proved to be tough. After three drops, the iPhone 5s still looked great and showed dents only on areas where it hit the ground. The screen surprisingly held up well. The iPhone 5c, while also proving to be tough, showed to be more fragile compared to the 5s. The iPhone 5c took drops from the back and side well, but when it was dropped face down, the screen shattered.
What do you think about these drop tests? Do you think the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c are tough enough?
