New iPhone SE is Apple’s cheapest iPhone

Apple finally unveiled the new iPhone SE. The iOS device looks just like the iPhone 8 but with a new processor and camera.

The second generation iPhone SE will take up the low cost spot in Apple’s lineup with a price that starts at PHP 26,490. It features a 4.7-inch Retina HD display with True Tone and the reliable Touch ID fingerprint scanner.

The new iPhone is powered by an A13 Bionic chip, the same ones inside the new iPhone 11 and 11 Pro. It is also equipped with wireless charging.

At the back is a single 12MP camera with an f/1.8 aperture lens. According to Apple, it uses the A13 Bionic’s signal processors and Neural Engine to boost image quality. The popular Portrait Mode has also been improved, using machine learning and what Apple calls “monocular depth estimation” to determine depth. The whole camera system is supported by optical image stabilization. While for selfies, a 7MP camera will do the job.
