Apple releases iOS 16 to supported iPhones

Apple is seeding the iOS 16 to compatible iPhones. The update, which is around 3GB in size, features several improvements, most notably enhancements to the lock screen and more.

iOS 16 is available to iPhone 8 and newer devices (for the list of supported devices, go to the end of this post). It will come pre-installed on the new iPhone 14 Series.

For those devices that are unable to update to iOS 16, Apple releases iOS 15.7 and iPadOS 15.7 for iPhone 6s and later models, iPad Air 2 and later model, iPad 5 and later, iPad Mini 4 and later, and the iPod Touch 7. This OTA update comes with several fixes for security and vulnerability issues.

The iOS 16’s biggest feature is the redesigned Lock Screen which brings with it new customization options and widgets for information. It can also link to Focus to filter out distracting content in apps.

Messages also come with a big update, that now lets users edit or unsend sent messages. In addition, the app brings new collaboration features for seamless files and watching synced videos or music.
