The hiighly-anticipated iPhone SE 4 could be rebranded as the iPhone 16E when it launches on February 19, according to insider Mark Gurman.
If this new naming convention holds true, the handset will join the iPhone 16 Series as the budget-friendly option. Gurman suggests that the SE branding is being dropped due to how different this model is going to be compared its predecessors.

While most of the iPhone 16E’s specifications remain under wraps, reports indicate it will be powered by Apple’s A18 chipset, the same chip found in the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus. This effectively puts the iPhone 16E’s performance on par with these flagship models.
Design-wise, the iPhone 16E/iPhone SE 4 is expected to resemble the iPhone 14 with its sleek form factor and single rear camera lens. It will feature a notch, meaning the Dynamic Island feature will not be included in this model. However, it will introduce an Action Button, replacing the traditional Alert Slider.
Rumors also suggest that the iPhone SE 4 will come with a compact 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display and a USB-C port to comply with the European Union’s common charging standard mandate. Additionally, there is speculation about the inclusion of an in-house cellular modem, signaling Apple’s move away from Qualcomm’s technology in future devices.

The iPhone SE series has always been appealing due to its lower price point compared to flagship models. In the Philippines, the current iPhone SE starts at PHP 29,990 for the 64GB storage option.
While Apple is expected to adjust the price for the new model, it is anticipated that the SE 4 will continue to offer a budget-friendly entry into the iPhone ecosystem.
As we wait for the official announcement from Apple, stay tuned for more details on the upcoming iPhone 16E.
