Meta launches Oakley Meta Vanguard smart glasses in India

Meta has introduced the Oakley Meta Vanguard smart glasses in India, targeting outdoor sports and training enthusiasts. This marks the company’s second major smart eyewear release in the country after the Ray-Ban Meta lineup.

The Oakley Meta Vanguard features a wraparound frame weighing 66 grams. They have an IP67 rating, giving them dust and water resistance. Oakley’s Prizm lenses help reduce glare while protecting against sunlight, wind, and dust.

A 12MP central camera with a 122-degree field of view sits at the front. It can record 1080p video at 60fps or short clips in 3K resolution. Meta added a new Action button for quick camera control, along with a customizable secondary button.

Audio comes through open-ear speakers supported by a five-microphone system. Meta AI is built in, offering voice commands in Hindi for media control, text responses, and hands-free UPI Lite payments. Indian actress Deepika Padukone’s voice is also available as an option.
