Roblox will remain accessible in the Philippines after government officials clarified that the platform will not be banned. Concerns had grown among parents about online abuse and exploitation of children on digital platforms, prompting discussions with regulators and industry stakeholders.
On April 7, 2026, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC), law enforcement agencies, and Roblox met with private sector representatives. The DICT and CICC confirmed that Roblox will continue to operate in the country, with child safety remaining a top priority.
Roblox outlined new safeguards to protect young users. These include stricter monitoring systems, improved reporting tools, and stronger age-appropriate content controls.
The company also announced an information campaign starting April 12, 2026, to guide parents on how to use these safety features effectively.
Previously, the CICC had listed demands for Roblox, such as linking Philippine accounts to the national ID system (PhilSys), establishing a local office, and providing direct reporting tools for harmful behavior. The status of these proposals is unclear at the moment.

Parents are encouraged to activate Roblox’s parental controls. These tools will allow them to monitor screen time, set purchase limits, block inappropriate experiences, and select content suitable for their child’s age.
Digital safety is, after all, a shared responsibility between platforms, government, and families.
