Apple planning subscription for next-gen Siri

Apple is preparing a subscription model for its next-generation Siri. According to a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the company is expected to introduce a premium tier, tentatively called Siri Premium, alongside free upgrades for all compatible devices.

The free version will have improved conversational abilities and basic AI features. Meanwhile, the paid tier will come with advanced productivity tools powered by cloud-based processing. These include complex workflows like compiling research across apps, advanced scheduling, and generating creative assets.

A subscription tier allows Apple to offset costs associated with AI while building recurring revenue beyond hardware sales.

The ecosystem will be tiered: free “Apple Intelligence” tools such as photo editing, notification summaries, and localized device commands, and a premium tier for power users who need deeper cross-app integration.
