What to expect from Apple’s September launch event

Apple is set for its big September launch event, expected to be on the 9th, with several big product reveals. The keynote will also mark the first appearance of John Ternus as Apple’s new CEO, taking over from Tim Cook.

The spotlight will be on Apple’s first foldable iPhone, the company’s biggest design change in 20 years. Alongside it, Apple will introduce the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, continuing its premium lineup. The event will also bring the Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4, both expected to deliver faster chips, new colors, and updated health features.

Apple will also refresh its home devices. A new Apple TV set‑top box and HomePod mini are expected, with a preview of Apple’s first smart home hub planned for release between late 2026 and early 2027.

For Macs, the M6 MacBook Pro and updated iMacs are likely to arrive in October, while a revamped iPad mini is also coming. A high‑end MacBook with an OLED touchscreen is expected later this year or early next year.

Preorders usually open the Friday after the event, but this year Apple is expected to shift the date to September 12 instead of September 11, out of respect for the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

Apple’s September keynote will set the stage for a busy lineup of new devices, with the foldable iPhone leading the charge. The new iPhone prices are also expected to be much higher due to the ongoing memory shortage.
