Global top 10 best performing flagship Android phones in August 2020, according to AnTuTu

Despite its removal from the Playstore, AnTuTu Benchmark is still one of the most popular benchmarking apps. It is used by many (tech bloggers included) to gauge how powerful their devices are.

For the month of August, AnTuTu released its top 10 best performing Android flagships. And unlike the China list, this one features chips from Qualcomm and Samsung.

Do take note that compared to the China list, the average scores of the phones on this list are significantly lower. Does it mean they have more powerful phones? Maybe. But it could also mean something else entirely. I’ll leave it to you to decide.

At the top of the list is the freshly minted ASUS ROG Phone 3. The gaming handset comes fully stocked for power, including a Snapdragon 865+, 12GB RAM, fast 128GB storage, and an efficient cooling system.

Next three devices are the OnePlus 8 Pro, the OPPO Find X2 Pro, and the Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G. These roundup the devices on the list that are powered by Snapdragon 865+ chipsets. All come with 12GB RAM and fast storage of at least 256GB.

The Redmi K30 Pro, the new Poco F2 Pro, and the Xiaomi Mi 10 are five, six and seven, respectively. These come with Snapdragon 865 chips with 8GB RAM.

The last three devices are from Samsung — the Exynos 990 equipped Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G, Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G, and Galaxy S20+ 5G. These did not make the China list.

Despite the numbers, do consider that scores alone does not make a memorable flagship experience. Always take into account the software, the build quality, other features, and, of course, the camera performance.

AnTuTu collected the data from August 1, 2020 to August 31, 2020; the results in the ranking list are average scores instead of the highest scores; and there are more than 1,000 pieces of information on single phone model.
